I read a lot about it also because I am following the issue almost from the outset.
As I wrote in my post of 27 April, Swine Fever: What is really happening? The situation was expected quite hard.
I plan to frequently update this post but for now I found a good Decalogue which may be necessary to those who are facing this "itch"
Influenza A, what is there to know?

What is new flu caused by H1N1 virus?
Swine fever is an acute respiratory disease of pigs caused by influenza viruses of group A. Of the various subtypes of viruses isolated from pigs are the main type H1N1, that is, those responsible for the current human epidemic. After the first cases of the new human flu, which occurred after very close contact between pigs and man, the new H1N1 virus has adapted to humans and become transmissible from person to person.
Mind you: the swine influenza is not transmitted through food and therefore there is no risk of infection through consumption of pig meat or pig meat products.
What are the symptoms and how it differs from "regular flu"?
The "new" influenza is essentially a triad of symptoms, represented by high fever (above 38 degrees) that occurs abruptly, muscle aches, and at least one of these respiratory symptoms: sore throat, cough, runny nose. Usually the onset of the disease is accompanied by a headache, a state of weakness (or easy fatigue) more or less intense, and sometimes nausea or vomiting are present. These last two symptoms but are not typical of influenza. If there are only severe nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea is more likely that this is not influenza, but a 'gastrointestinal infection caused by one of the many seasonal virus that can affect the gastrointestinal apparatus.
Ultimately, in terms of symptoms, the new flu is not distinguished in any way from the classical seasonal influenza. The real difference is the fact that the influenza A seasonal influenza spreads more rapidly and thus affects a larger number of individuals, because, as a new virus, many people still lack the antibodies to defend themselves.
Is transmitted and how many days those affected is contagious?
The transmission from human to human influenza virus A / H1N1 is primarily through small droplets of saliva that are released from all of us during coughing or sneezing, but also through contact with hands contaminated by respiratory secretions. One route of infection can be the kiss, a caress, drinking from the same glass, smoke the same cigarette or just being at close range with an infected person.
As mentioned above, therefore, the new human influenza viruses are not transmitted by food, that eating pork or products based on pork.
Usually, people with influenza A/H1N1 virus are considered new contagious the day before the onset of symptoms and for at least four days. Children, especially the smaller ones, can potentially spread the virus for longer periods.
It is a serious illness?
As the seasonal form, swine flu in humans can occur in mild or severe, but it must be said that when the gravity is not among its features: the rule is healing, not the least of complications and death. So much so that, in Italy, about 1900 cases so far reported, has been a single case of death. Which means that mortality is presumably identical to those of classical season.
The duration of the disease usually does not exceed 4-5 days. They can make exceptions, patients with severe pulmonary or cardiac disease, diabetics, people with compromised immune (from various causes) which may be more prolonged or face respiratory complications.
What to do in case of suspicious symptoms?
If symptoms, as often happens, they are mild and the affected person is in good health is good to stay calm, stay home, avoid close contact with other people (possibly including unmarried partners) and follow some general therapeutic recommendations. If symptoms are very intense, the disease extends beyond the normal 3-4 days, or a person is suffering from other major diseases (cardiac, respiratory, renal) is good for the doctor rather than go on its own initiative in the emergency room. An emergency visit to hospital may be indicated only in special cases when breathing difficulties arise particularly severe and the family doctor is not immediately available.
How is it diagnosed?
Owing to the progressive cases in Europe and Italy have been strengthened surveillance systems and is not regarded as essential laboratory confirmation of suspected cases.Therefore, the diagnosis is based primarily on the presence of the symptoms listed above.
For the diagnosis of influenza in children remember that:
the infant's influence may occur only with vomiting and diarrhea and fever is an exceptional occurrence;
younger children are not able to describe the general symptoms, but manifest their distress in the form of irritability, crying or loss of appetite;
in case of high fever, younger children often have red eyes that are indicative of conjunctivitis;
the age of 1-5 years, flu syndrome is frequently associated with laryngitis, bronchitis, and high fever.
Currently, the indication is to perform laboratory analysis (only on the advice of a doctor) in all cases with a clinical performance commitment for which it is considered appropriate to require hospitalization. For the purposes of monitoring, in addition, laboratory tests are performed by sampling and in cases which have occurred in the absence of travel or contact with confirmed cases. The analysis is done on a sample of secretions taken from the upper respiratory tract through a nasal or pharyngeal swab normal within 4 to 5 days after symptom onset (ie, when the person is contagious).
How is it treated?
As with other forms of influenza, treatment usually involves rest and the recruitment of antipyretic drugs to lower fever (first of all, paracetamol), analgesics oantinfiammatori to soothe any aches and antitussives. The treatment of symptoms, fluid intake (water, tea, fruit juices) and the rest (prolonged until 24-48 hours after the disappearance of fever) are usually sufficient for complete healing in cases not complicated.
For some individuals at risk (eg children under two years, the elderly over 65 years, patients with diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, cardiovascular, hepatic, hematologic, neurologic or neuromuscular disorders), the immunologically women pregnant or nursing women, asthmatics treated and obese people may be given the use of antiviral drugs (oseltamivir and zanamivir).
These drugs, which take on tablets, syrups or by inhalation spray, fight viruses by acting on proteins used by viruses to enter the cells of the host organism, are effective against all influenza viruses and thus that of the new flu The H1N1, which is of type A.
These can be useful to reduce symptoms and shorten healing times, but you must use only upon a prescription: Therapy should be started as early as possible (works best if started within two days) and normally should last for 5 days.
Beware, though: use it for no reason could provide some of the damage. The result is to occur with drug-resistant viruses, making it useless if the intake becomes really necessary. These drugs can be bought only on prescription, are not reimbursable by the NHS and are very expensive. What are the main rules of prevention?
Vaccination
The best weapon for prevention is the vaccination of the population. The specific vaccine against the virus A (H1N1) will be available soon.
In Italy, the Ministry of Health has already established the main rules for the conduct of free vaccination campaign covering approximately 40% of the population and provides a first phase (mid November) vaccination:
at risk for serious chronic illnesses;
health staff must ensure the welfare benefits;
staff ensures the safety aspects of the country (firefighters, police, civil protection, etc.);
staff ensures the continuity of so-called essential services (water, energy, telecommunications, waste, etc).
By the end of the year will then be the turn of subjects suffering from respiratory diseases between 2 and 65 years, and finally in January 2010, the vaccine will be reserved for healthy people between 2 and 27 years, namely the band 's age, data on the progress of the disease worldwide from April to now, is the most affected by infection that, in these subjects, is transmitted more easily.
General rules

Ho letto molto a riguardo anche perchè sto seguendo il problema quasi dal suo nascere.
Come ho scritto nel post del 27 Aprile, Febbre Suina: Cosa realmente sta accadendo? la situazione si prevedeva abbastanza dura.
Penso di aggiornare spesso questo post ma per ora ho trovato un buon decalogo che può essere necessario a chi si trova a dover affrontare questa "rogna"
Influenza A, cosa c'è da sapere?

Cos'è la nuova influenza provocata dal virus A/H1N1?
La febbre suina è una malattia respiratoria acuta dei maiali causata da virus influenzali di gruppo A. Dei vari sottotipi di virus isolati nei maiali i principali sono di tipo H1N1, cioè quelli responsabili dell’attuale epidemia umana. Dopo i primi casi della nuova influenza umana, che si sono verificati in seguito a contatti molto ravvicinati fra i maiali e l’uomo, il nuovo virus A/H1N1 si è adattato all'uomo ed è diventato trasmissibile da persona a persona.
Si badi bene: l'influenza suina non viene trasmessa attraverso il cibo e dunque non esiste alcun rischio d'infezione attraverso il consumo di carne suina cotta o di prodotti a base di carne suina.
Quali sono i sintomi e come si distingue dalla "normale influenza"?
La “nuova” influenza si presenta essenzialmente con una triade di sintomi, rappresentata da febbre alta (oltre i 38 gradi) che insorge bruscamente, dolori muscolari e almeno uno fra questi sintomi respiratori: mal di gola, tosse, naso che cola. Di solito l’esordio della malattia si accompagna anche a mal di testa, a uno stato di debolezza (o facile affaticamento) più o meno intenso e qualche volta sono presenti nausea o vomito. Questi ultimi due sintomi però non sono tipici dell’influenza. Se sono presenti unicamente forte nausea, dolori addominali e diarrea è più probabile che non si tratti di influenza, ma di un' infezione gastrointestinale dovuta a uno dei tanti virus stagionali che possono colpire l’apparato gastroenterico.
In definitiva, dal punto di vista sintomatico, la nuova influenza non si distingue in alcun modo dalla classica influenza stagionale. La vera differenza è rappresentata dal fatto che l'influenza A si diffonde più rapidamente dell’influenza stagionale e quindi colpisce un maggior numero di individui perché, trattandosi di un nuovo virus, molte persone non hanno ancora gli anticorpi per difendersi.
Come si trasmette e per quanti giorni chi ne è affetto è contagioso?
La trasmissione da uomo a uomo del virus dell'influenza A/ H1N1 avviene principalmente attraverso le piccole goccioline di saliva che vengono emesse da tutti noi durante i colpi di tosse o gli starnuti, ma anche attraverso il contatto con le mani contaminate dalle secrezioni respiratorie. Una via di contagio può essere il bacio, una carezza, bere dallo stesso bicchiere, fumare la stessa sigaretta o semplicemente stare a distanza ravvicinata con una persona infetta.
Come già detto, dunque, i virus della nuova influenza umana non sono trasmessi dal cibo, cioè mangiando maiale o prodotti a base di carne di maiale.
Di solito, le persone con influenza da nuovo virus A/H1N1 vengono considerate contagiose dal giorno precedente all’insorgere dei sintomi e per almeno quattro giorni successivi. I bambini, specialmente i più piccoli, possono potenzialmente diffondere il virus per periodi più lunghi.
È una malattia grave?
Come la forma stagionale, l’influenza suina nell'uomo può presentarsi in forma lieve o grave, ma va detto subito che al momento la gravità non appare fra le sue caratteristiche: la regola è la guarigione, non le complicanze e tantomeno la morte. Tanto è vero che, in Italia, su circa 1900 casi fino ad oggi riportati, è stato segnalato un solo caso di decesso. Il che significa che la mortalità è presumibilmente identica a quella dell’influenza classica stagionale.
La durata della malattia non oltrepassa di solito i 4-5 giorni. Possono fare eccezione i pazienti affetti da gravi malattie polmonari o cardiache, i diabetici, gli individui con deficit del sistema immunitario (da cause varie) per i quali può risultare più prolungata o andare incontro a complicanze respiratorie.
Cosa fare in caso di sintomi sospetti?
Se i sintomi, come spesso accade, sono lievi e la persona colpita è in buona salute è bene rimanere tranquilli, stare a casa, evitare i contatti ravvicinati con le altre persone (inclusi possibilmente i conviventi) e seguire alcuni consigli terapeutici generali. Se i sintomi sono particolarmente intensi, la malattia si protrae oltre i normali 3-4 giorni oppure la persona è affetta da altre malattie importanti (cardiache, respiratorie, renali) è bene chiamare il medico, anziché recarsi di propria iniziativa al pronto soccorso. Una visita d’urgenza in ospedale può essere indicata solo nei casi particolari in cui insorgano difficoltà respiratorie particolarmente severe e il medico di famiglia non sia immediatamente reperibile.
Come si effettua la diagnosi?
In seguito all’incremento progressivo dei casi in Europa e in Italia sono stati rafforzati i sistemi di sorveglianza e non si ritiene più indispensabile la conferma di laboratorio dei casi sospetti. Pertanto la diagnosi si fonda prima di tutto sulla presenza dei sintomi sopra elencati.
Per la diagnosi di influenza nel bambino ricordate che:
-
nel lattante l'influenza si può manifestare solo con vomito e diarrea e la febbre rappresenta una evenienza eccezionale;
-
i bambini più piccoli non sono in grado di descrivere i sintomi generali, ma manifestano il proprio malessere sotto forma di irritabilità, pianto o inappetenza;
-
in caso di febbre elevata, i bambini più piccoli presentano spesso occhi arrossati che sono indicativi di una congiuntivite;
-
all’età di 1-5 anni la sindrome influenzale si associa frequentemente a laringite, bronchite e febbre elevata.
Attualmente l’indicazione è quella di eseguire l'analisi di laboratorio (solo su indicazione del medico) in tutti i casi caratterizzati da un andamento clinico impegnativo per il quale si ritiene opportuno richiedere un ricovero in ospedale. Ai fini della sorveglianza, inoltre, analisi di laboratorio sono effettuate a campione e nei casi che si sono manifestati in assenza di viaggi o di contatti con casi confermati. L’analisi si fa su un campione di secrezioni prelevate dalle prime vie respiratorie mediante un normale tampone nasale o faringeo entro 4/5 giorni dall'inizio dei sintomi (cioè, quando la persona è contagiosa).
Come si cura?
Come per le altre forme influenzali, la terapia normalmente prevede il riposo e l’assunzione di farmaci antipiretici per abbassare la febbre (primo fra tutti, il paracetamolo), analgesici oantinfiammatori per calmare i dolori ed eventualmente sedativi della tosse. Il trattamento dei sintomi, l’assunzione di liquidi (acqua, tè, succhi di frutta) ed il riposo (protratto fino a 24-48 ore dopo la scomparsa della febbre) sono in genere sufficienti per la completa guarigione nei casi non complicati.
Per alcuni soggetti a rischio (per esempio i bambini sotto i due anni, gli anziani sopra i 65 anni, i pazienti affetti da diabete, malattie croniche respiratorie, cardiovascolari, epatiche, ematologiche, neurologiche o neuromuscolari), i soggetti immunodepressi, le donne in gravidanza o in allattamento, gli asmatici in terapia e le persone obese può essere indicato l’impiego dei farmaci antivirali (zanamivir e oseltamivir).
Questi farmaci, che si assumono in compresse, sciroppi o spray per inalazione, combattono i virus dell’influenza agendo sulle proteine utilizzate dai virus per entrare nelle cellule dell’organismo ospite, sono efficaci contro tutti i virus influenzali e quindi anche quello della nuova influenza, l’H1N1, che è di tipo A.
Questi possono essere utili per ridurre i sintomi e ad abbreviare i tempi di guarigione, ma si devono adoperare solo previa prescrizione medica: la terapia andrebbe iniziata il prima possibile (funziona meglio se iniziata entro due giorni) e va protratta di regola per 5 giorni.
Attenzione però: usarli senza motivo potrebbe procurare anche dei danni. Il rischio infatti è che insorgano virus resistenti al farmaco, rendendolo inutile qualora l’assunzione diventi realmente necessaria. Questi farmaci si possono acquistare solo su prescrizione medica, non sono rimborsabili dal Servizio sanitario nazionale e sono molto costosi. La comparsa di complicazioni (per esempio una bronchite o polmonite) può richiedere la prescrizione di una terapia antibiotica, che andrà comunque sempre effettuata da un medico.
Quali sono le principali norme di prevenzione?
Vaccinazione
L'arma migliore di prevenzione è rappresentata dalla vaccinazione della popolazione. Il vaccino specifico contro il virus A(H1N1) sarà presto disponibile.
In Italia, il Ministero della Salute ha già fissato le norme principali per l’esecuzione della campagna vaccinale gratuita che riguarderà circa il 40% della popolazione e prevede in una prima fase (a metà del mese di novembre) la vaccinazione di:
-
soggetti a rischio perché affetti da patologie croniche gravi;
-
personale sanitario che deve garantire le prestazioni assistenziali;
-
personale che garantisce gli aspetti di sicurezza del Paese (vigili del fuoco, polizia, protezione civile, etc);
-
personale che garantisce la continuità dei servizi cosiddetti essenziali (acqua, energia, telecomunicazioni, rifiuti, etc).
Entro la fine dell’anno sarà poi la volta dei soggetti affetti da malattie respiratorie fra i 2 e i 65 anni, mentre infine a partire da gennaio 2010 i vaccini saranno riservati alla popolazione sana fra i 2 e i 27 anni, cioè a quella fascia d'età che, dai dati sull'andamento mondiale della malattia da aprile ad oggi, risulta essere la più colpita dall'infezione che, in tali soggetti, si trasmette più facilmente.
Norme generali
Una volta che si è stati colpiti dalla nuova influenza, come del resto da qualunque altra forma infettiva virale delle vie respiratorie, è bene lavare le mani dopo aver tossito o dopo essersi soffiati il naso perche qui si vanno a depositare, attraverso le goccioline di saliva, le secrezioni infette.È bene poi evitare di portare le mani a contatto con occhi naso e bocca, usare ognuno il proprio asciugamano, le proprie stoviglie, evitare contatti ravvicinati con persone sane, per esempio baci o carezze, coprire con un fazzoletto (possibilmente di carta) naso e bocca quando si starnutisce e gettare il fazzoletto dopo l’uso nella spazzatura o nella biancheria da lavare.
Mantenere una distanza adeguata (circa un metro) tra persona e persona è considerata una misura sempre efficace per prevenire il contagio della malattia.
Si raccomanda infine di rimanere a casa se malati evitando di viaggiare, di recarsi al lavoro o a scuola, allo scopo di limitare i contatti possibilmente infettanti con altre persone e ridurre il rischio di complicazioni e infezioni da parte di altri microbi.

Come qualsiasi mio post, tutto prende spunto da conversazioni con altre persone. Da questo ci si rende conto che determinate realtà, sono a dire poco abominevoli.
Certo. la povertà è una dura e cruda realtà ma, ci sono anche governi i quali trattano il proprio popolo come carne da macello.
A questo punto, la prima domanda che faccio, a cosa servono i G8, G15, G20 e tutte le altre G di questo mondo? Non è che hanno scambiato il fatidico punto G dell'orgasmo femminile che è, secondo alcuni, uno dei misteri di questo mondo?
Se senti che in Ucraina le farmacie sono vuote di medicinali per curare le febbri, se senti che in Ghana una donna muore perchè è andata via l'energia elettrica nell' ospedale e i macchinari che la facevano respirare si sono spenti, se senti che una persona in Nigeria, se non ha i soldi, non può avere medicine per curare la febbre alta, allora, se non si offre alla popolazione quel minimo indispensabile, cosa fanno realmente i Governi di quei Paesi? E se i Governi di quei Paesi sono insensibili a questo, a cosa servono le Nazioni Unite? a cosa servono i G e qualcosa? a cosa serve l'OMS?
Quando sento queste cose mi pongo delle domande, sperando di avere delle risposte, o meglio, di trovare delle risposte alle mie domande.
Sono andato sul sito dell'OMS e ho preso a campione dei dati, il campione è abbastanza ampio da poter essere considerato un buon mezzo statistico per fare Come qualsiasi mio post, tutto prende spunto da conversazioni con altre persone. Analizziamo i dati statistici assemblati.
Sono state prese in considerazione 17 nazioni (non avrei potute prenderle tutte in quanto mi sarebbero serviti mesi per la compilazione, visto che, furbescamente, l'OMS non si prende questo fastidio, le nazioni interessate sono di un po tutti i quanti i continenti.
Abbiamo l'Asia rappresentata dall'Arabia Saudita, la Cina, l'India, il Giappone, il Viet Nam, Iran e Turchia, l'America rappresentata dagli Stati Uniti, Costa Rica e Brasile, l'Africa con Nigeria e Ghana e l'Europa con Italia, Danimarca, Ucraina, Russia e l'Oceania con la Nuova Zelanda.
Non mi chiedete il perchè in quanto ho solo seguito una mappa ideale, comunque mi sembra un buon campione e abbastanza significativo.
Cosa è emerso?. Un mare di indicazioni.
Consideriamo prima un quadro generale.
Senza alcun dubbio, dei 17 stati presi in considerazione, il servizio sanitario pubblico peggiore è quello della Nigeria, abbiamo una mortalità infantile del 19% seguito dal 12% del Ghana, aspettativa di vita molto bassa, dai 48/49 della Nigeria ai 56/58 del Ghana anche se, nemmeno Russia e Ucraina sono messe meglio, andiamo dai 60/73 della prima ai 61/73 della seconda, praticamente senza differenza.
Le stesse 4 nazioni di prima sono interessate al maggior numero di mortalità tra i 15 e i 60 anni anche se, in questo caso, lasciando sempre il primato alla Nigeria col 44,7% degli uomini, il secondo e terzo posto, chiaramente negativi, sono di Russia e Ucraina, rispettivamente col 43,2% e 38,2% (lasciatemelo dire, per qualcuno quei Paesi dovevano essere un sogno anche se poi si è rivelato un incubo..... D'Alema docet)., e, al quarto posto negativo si posiziona il Ghana col 35,8% degli uomini.
Prendere in considerazione la spesa pro capite non è molto significativo perchè tutto è in rapporto al reddito pro capite, invece, è interessantissimo vedere la percentuale del PIL che ogni singolo governo spende nell'ambito sanitario.
Personalmente ritengo vergognoso come il governo Nigeriano spenda appena il 4,10% del proprio prodotto interno lordo nella sanità ma non meno vergognoso, anche se la situazione non è così catastrofica come in Nigeria, è appena il 3,40% del PIL speso dall'Arabia Saudita, il 4,5% della Cina, il 5,3% della Russia e il 5,6% della Turchia.
Anche in Ghana il governo potrebbe fare qualcosa in più.
Non meno vergognosi, però, emergono 2 dati.
Sono il 7% del PIL speso dal governo Ucraino che comunque offre un pessimo servizio sanitario e quel 15,3% degli Stati Uniti d'America in cui, è cosa risaputa, un vero e proprio servizio sanitario nazionale non esiste ancora, la gente muore perchè non ha i soldi per potersi pagare l'intervento. Ma, a questo punto mi chiedo, se dovesse passare la mozione Obama sulla riforma del servizio sanitario esteso a tutti i cittadini, quanto ci vorrà del PIL? L'80%?.
Vediamo le positività, anche se, dire che in Italia il servizio sanitario funziona, mi sembra un'eresia.
Al primo posto in assoluto c'è il Giappone, evidentemente c'è anche una gestione molto accurata del denaro pubblico in ambito sanitario.
Danimarca e Italia sono a un livello apparentemente ottimale (anche se nella realtà non si direbbe) sebbene bisogna anche considerare il fattore climatico che, comunque, può incidere sulla salute dei cittadini.
Per il resto i dati sono abbastanza contrastanti.
A questo punto, però, spetta ai governi che compongono i G 8 o i G 15 intervenire in qualsiasi modo e maniera ad esortare quei governi che, pur utilizzando anche il denaro messo a disposizione dalle altre nazioni, non dedica la giusta attenzione alla salute della propria popolazione.
C'è un famoso detto...... Se c'è la salute, c'è tutto.
Cerchiamo di fare una breve analisi nazione per nazione.
ARABIA SAUDITA: Il reddito pro capite è medio alto, la situazione sanitaria è pessima ma, la cosa aberrante è proprio quel 3,4% del PIL che il governo dedica alla sanità pubblica.
Giudizio: VERGOGNA.
BRASILE: Il Brasile stanzia una discreta parte del PIL, il 7,5% che è una percentuale media rispetto al resto delle nazioni prese in considerazione, ma il quoziente di mortalità tra i 15 e i 60 anni è molto alto, siamo sul 23% per gli uomini e l'aspettativa di vita è molto bassa.
Giudizio: C'è da lavorare.
CINA: Se il governo stanziasse per la sanità pubblica la stessa percentuale del Brasile al posto di quel misero 4,5%, la Cina potrebbe rientrare nelle nazioni in cui la sanità pubblica funziona decentemente.
Giudizio: Intervenire sul governo.
COSTA RICA: Chiaramente tutto si può migliorare ma, viste le altre nazioni, bisogna dare atto che c'è un certo equilibrio in tutto.
Giudizio: Discreto.
DANIMARCA: Dopo gli Stati Uniti è la nazione che spende la percentuale più alta del PIL, il 9,5%, e comunque i risultati, a differenza degli USA si vedono.
Giudizio: Discreto.
GHANA: La situazione è disastrosa ma in una nazione in cui l'energia elettrica spesso non c'è, penso che prima di intervenire sulla sanità sarebbe il caso di dotare la popolazione di corrente. Ci possono essere i migliori medici al mondo ma se mentre operano va via la corrente, il paziente muore lo stesso.
Giudizio: Necessario intervento umanitario con aiuti mirati.
GIAPPONE: Da questi dati sembra l'EDEN.
Giudizio: Da prendere come esempio.
INDIA: Stanzia più della Cina come PIL ma, a differenza della Cina, i soldi non vengono spesi bene. Certo, il 4,9% è troppo poco e per questo in governo dovrebbe correggere notevolmente il gettito di spesa ma penso che ci sia molto da lavorare anche con l'educazione sanitaria.
Giudizio: C'è molto da lavorare.
IRAN: Lo stanziamento del PIL sembra adeguato, la situazione è abbastanza grave, probabilmente tanti soldi si perdono per strada.
Giudizio. Non fare incazzare il presidente.
ITALIA: La nostra situazione la conosciamo tutti, malgrado questo non ci possiamo lamentare.

NIGERIA: Vale lo stesso discorso del Ghana anche se la situazione è veramente catastrofica.
Giudizio: Intervento immediato da parte di tutti gli organismi mondiali.
NUOVA ZELANDA: Stesso discorso fatto per Danimarca, situazione più che decente con stanziamento di parte del PIL abbastanza alto. Ma se il fine giustifica i mezzi, mai frase potrebbe essere più opportuna.
Giudizio: Più che discreto.
RUSSIA: La situazione non è affatto invidiabile. Eppure la Russia ha sfornato un notevole numero di scienziati nel campo. Significa che le menti ci sono, la ricerca c'è ma cosa manca? E' al secondo posto dopo la Nigeria per l'altissima mortalità tra i 15 e i 60 anni, lo trovo vergognoso, almeno la Nigeria ha la scusa di avere i problemi di sussistenza, ma la Russia? Siamo al 43,8% degli uomini. Una componente può essere di sicuro l'eccessivo uso di alcool e allora? Non esiste educare? Per il governo c'è molto da lavorare, con tutte le risorse che ha a disposizione dovrebbe essere uno dei paesi al mondo al vertice, invece, è tra i fanalini di coda.
Giudizio: VERGOGNA..
STATI UNITI: Non invidio di certo il Presidente Obama e la sua riforma della sanità. Penso che il tutto sia in mano alle lobby e i presidenti passano ma le lobby rimangono. Certo, sino a quando i presidenti degli USA si faranno pagare le campagne elettorali dalle lobby, la gente continuerà a morire senza avere la possibilità di essere curata, il governo comunque spenderà cifre impossibili che, invece di essere usate per curare i cittadini, vanno ad ingrassare sempre di più quel letamaio delle lobby.
GIUDIZIO: PLURI VERGOGNA.
TURCHIA: Penso che se il governo dovesse dedicare un maggior numero di risorse, superiore a quel 5,6% del PIL attualmente stanziato, la situazione potrebbe essere almeno decente.
Giudizio: C'è da lavorare, basta solo un po di volontà e amore verso il popolo.
UCRAINA: L'unico indice non negativo è lo stanziamento del PIL, il 7%. Almeno negli USA sappiamo che fine fanno i soldi dei cittadini, in Ucraina? I soldi vengono stanziati ma come mai il 38% degli uomini non arriva a 60 anni? Come mai c'è una mortalità infantile del 2,4%, 6 volte superiore all'Italia? Come mai la popolazione non si ribella?
GIUDIZIO: Chiedere spiegazioni al governo dell'utilizzo dei fondi e nel caso usare i forconi nel sedere.
VIET NAM: Stesso discorso fatto per la Cina, si potrebbe migliorare il servizio sanitario magari con un intervento governativo atto a scoprire le cause della sparizione di buona parte di denaro per strada.
GIUDIZIO: Da lavorare ma, volendo, si può migliorare notevolmente la situazione.

Come qualsiasi mio post, tutto prende spunto da conversazioni con altre persone. Da questo ci si rende conto che determinate realtà, sono a dire poco abominevoli.
Certo. la povertà è una dura e cruda realtà ma, ci sono anche governi i quali trattano il proprio popolo come carne da macello.
A questo punto, la prima domanda che faccio, a cosa servono i G8, G15, G20 e tutte le altre G di questo mondo? Non è che hanno scambiato il fatidico punto G dell'orgasmo femminile che è, secondo alcuni, uno dei misteri di questo mondo?
Se senti che in Ucraina le farmacie sono vuote di medicinali per curare le febbri, se senti che in Ghana una donna muore perchè è andata via l'energia elettrica nell' ospedale e i macchinari che la facevano respirare si sono spenti, se senti che una persona in Nigeria, se non ha i soldi, non può avere medicine per curare la febbre alta, allora, se non si offre alla popolazione quel minimo indispensabile, cosa fanno realmente i Governi di quei Paesi? E se i Governi di quei Paesi sono insensibili a questo, a cosa servono le Nazioni Unite? a cosa servono i G e qualcosa? a cosa serve l'OMS?
Quando sento queste cose mi pongo delle domande, sperando di avere delle risposte, o meglio, di trovare delle risposte alle mie domande.
Sono andato sul sito dell'OMS e ho preso a campione dei dati, il campione è abbastanza ampio da poter essere considerato un buon mezzo statistico per fare un'analisi reale.
Ho raggruppato i dati e ho ricavato questa tabella:

Sono andato sul sito dell'OMS e ho preso a campione dei dati, il campione è abbastanza ampio da poter essere considerato un buon mezzo statistico per fare un'analisi reale.

Sono state prese in considerazione 17 nazioni (non avrei potute prenderle tutte in quanto mi sarebbero serviti mesi per la compilazione, visto che, furbescamente, l'OMS non si prende questo fastidio, le nazioni interessate sono di un po tutti i quanti i continenti.
Abbiamo l'Asia rappresentata dall'Arabia Saudita, la Cina, l'India, il Giappone, il Viet Nam, Iran e Turchia, l'America rappresentata dagli Stati Uniti, Costa Rica e Brasile, l'Africa con Nigeria e Ghana e l'Europa con Italia, Danimarca, Ucraina, Russia e l'Oceania con la Nuova Zelanda.
Non mi chiedete il perchè in quanto ho solo seguito una mappa ideale, comunque mi sembra un buon campione e abbastanza significativo.
Cosa è emerso?. Un mare di indicazioni.
Consideriamo prima un quadro generale.
Senza alcun dubbio, dei 17 stati presi in considerazione, il servizio sanitario pubblico peggiore è quello della Nigeria, abbiamo una mortalità infantile del 19% seguito dal 12% del Ghana, aspettativa di vita molto bassa, dai 48/49 della Nigeria ai 56/58 del Ghana anche se, nemmeno Russia e Ucraina sono messe meglio, andiamo dai 60/73 della prima ai 61/73 della seconda, praticamente senza differenza.
Le stesse 4 nazioni di prima sono interessate al maggior numero di mortalità tra i 15 e i 60 anni anche se, in questo caso, lasciando sempre il primato alla Nigeria col 44,7% degli uomini, il secondo e terzo posto, chiaramente negativi, sono di Russia e Ucraina, rispettivamente col 43,2% e 38,2% (lasciatemelo dire, per qualcuno quei Paesi dovevano essere un sogno anche se poi si è rivelato un incubo..... D'Alema docet)., e, al quarto posto negativo si posiziona il Ghana col 35,8% degli uomini.
Prendere in considerazione la spesa pro capite non è molto significativo perchè tutto è in rapporto al reddito pro capite, invece, è interessantissimo vedere la percentuale del PIL che ogni singolo governo spende nell'ambito sanitario.
Personalmente ritengo vergognoso come il governo Nigeriano spenda appena il 4,10% del proprio prodotto interno lordo nella sanità ma non meno vergognoso, anche se la situazione non è così catastrofica come in Nigeria, è appena il 3,40% del PIL speso dall'Arabia Saudita, il 4,5% della Cina, il 5,3% della Russia e il 5,6% della Turchia.
Anche in Ghana il governo potrebbe fare qualcosa in più.

Siamo al 43,8% degli uomini. Una componente può essere di sicuro l'eccessivo uso di alcool e allora? Non esiste educare? Per il governo c'è molto da lavorare, con tutte le risorse che ha a disposizione dovrebbe essere uno dei paesi al mondo al vertice, invece, è tra i fanalini di coda.

STATI UNITI: Non invidio di certo il Presidente Obama e la sua riforma della sanità. Penso che il tutto sia in mano alle lobby e i presidenti passano ma le lobby rimangono. Certo, sino a quando i presidenti degli USA si faranno pagare le campagne elettorali dalle lobby, la gente continuerà a morire senza avere la possibilità di essere curata, il governo comunque spenderà cifre impossibili che, invece di essere usate per curare i cittadini, vanno ad ingrassare sempre di più quel letamaio delle lobby.
GIUDIZIO: PLURI VERGOGNA.
TURCHIA: Penso che se il governo dovesse dedicare un maggior numero di risorse, superiore a quel 5,6% del PIL attualmente stanziato, la situazione potrebbe essere almeno decente.
Giudizio: C'è da lavorare, basta solo un po di volontà e amore verso il popolo.
UCRAINA: L'unico indice non negativo è lo stanziamento del PIL, il 7%. Almeno negli USA sappiamo che fine fanno i soldi dei cittadini, in Ucraina? I soldi vengono stanziati ma come mai il 38% degli uomini non arriva a 60 anni? Come mai c'è una mortalità infantile del 2,4%, 6 volte superiore all'Italia? Come mai la popolazione non si ribella?
GIUDIZIO: Chiedere spiegazioni al governo dell'utilizzo dei fondi e nel caso usare i forconi nel sedere.
VIET NAM: Stesso discorso fatto per la Cina, si potrebbe migliorare il servizio sanitario magari con un intervento governativo atto a scoprire le cause della sparizione di buona parte di denaro per strada.
GIUDIZIO: Da lavorare ma, volendo, si può migliorare notevolmente la situazione.

Like any my post, everything is inspired by conversations with other people. From this we realize that certain realities are abominable to say the least.
Certain. Poverty is a harsh and cruel reality, but there are also governments who treat their people as cannon fodder.
At this point, the first question that I do, what are the G8, G15, G20 and other G in this world? Not that they exchanged the fateful G-spot orgasm female is, according to some, one of the mysteries of this world?
If you feel that pharmacies in Ukraine are empty of medicines to treat fever, if you feel that a woman dies in Ghana as it went off the electricity in the 'hospital and the machines that made her breathing went off, if you feel that a person in Nigeria, where he has no money, can not have medicine to treat fever, then, if you do not provide the public with that bare minimum, what actually do the governments of these countries? And if the governments of those countries are insensitive to this, what are the United Nations? What are G and something? What does the WHO?
When I hear these things I ask questions, hoping to get answers, or better, to find answers to my questions.
I went to the site of the WHO and I took a sample of data, the sample is large enough to be considered a good way to do statistical analysis real.
I have grouped the data and I got this table:
We analyze the statistical data assembled.
Were taken into account 17 countries (I would not have been possible to take them all because it would serve me months to compile, since, slyly, WHO does not take this trouble, the nations involved are a bit all those continents.
We have the Asia represented by Saudi Arabia, China, India, Japan, Viet Nam, Iran and Turkey, America represented by the United States, Costa Rica and Brazil, Nigeria and Ghana and Africa with the 'Europe with Italy, Denmark, Ukraine, Russia and Oceania with New Zealand.
Do not ask me why because I just followed an ideal map, however it seems a good sample and quite significant.
What emerged?. A sea of signs.
Consider first a general framework.
Without doubt, the 17 were taken into account, the public health service is worse than that of Nigeria, we have an infant mortality rate of 19% followed by 12% in Ghana, life expectancy very low, from 48/49 to 56 of Nigeria / Ghana 58, although, even Russia and Ukraine are made better, we go from 60/73 to 61/73 of the first of the second, virtually no difference.

Findings: To be taken as an example.

We are at 43.8% of men. A component can be reliable in the excessive use of alcohol and then? There educate? For the Government there is much to work with all the resources it has available should be one of the top countries in the world, however, is between the taillights.

Missing a few days when, a year ago, I wrote a post that covered the achievement of my first 50 years of life.
Every now and go over it and, despite having written the usual cast, I'm surprised by just how he managed, in short, to summarize 50 years of life.
Some things have changed this year, as then I suspected my mother a few months is gone and this comforts me to have made the right choice, to go with her last year of his life, partly because they were about 30 years that we were not more than 15 days together.
I have known, always a wonderful person this year, although she did not believe me, I love him but, for reasons of character and conceptions of life, it was better that the roads have been divided, perhaps they will understand later, as later they will understand other people who love me, understand that my refusal to certain reports are due solely to the awareness that I was a man still unsatisfied.
I still only 50 years left in this second 50 years and I wish that I could never have a family with a capital F.. A happy family, children assholes that come in breaking balls while working, and a wife who has to think only to part of the family, to help with the undersigned to grow and educate their children certain values and that the family as supreme entity to put forward any selfishness unrealistic.

It is 50 years.
The first 50 flew away as if nothing had happened and the combination was Sunday and Sunday. The budget? Undoubtedly positive knowing and experiencing what surrounds me. If I said otherwise I would be a fake, a hypocrite. Ultimately everything in life you can not get too because I think that anyone in the world could have got from life what he always wanted. Yesterday, a person very dear to me to read some sentences written by Paulo Coelho in the collection "The things I learned in life" and I found one that suits me "The happiest of people do not necessarily have the best of everything , just make the best of everything that comes along their way. " I do not know if I am happy, indeed we can not be said of why happiness is made up of moments and happy moments I have had so many able and I think I still have a lot. Essential is the serenity, the serenity that you can only have when you are not slaves to nothing first for themselves. By myself I have a very clear even though they are sometimes harsh but that severity that allows me to protect the peace. I had intended to spend my birthday in some special place to remember all my life. I thought the Big Apple, I thought his beloved Paris, adoration Barcelona city where I have dear people to whom I am bound ...... I thought, I thought, I thought. And then I thought that was exactly the right place here, where I am right now next to my sick and elderly parents who for one reason or another have never been close except in exceptional cases. This too I owe to them, they never have imposed their condition and allowed me to live my life as I could and always wanted to live. E 'lucky to have them both still alive although they're seeing consumed daily. E 'to them that I am and what I believe and I want to be a good person.
My love life? Well, caliamo a merciful veil, probably being hard on myself leads me to be strict with other people. Maybe I am too strict with people around me but the first with which they are demanding is myself. I was fortunate to have always very good life partner though probably not able to give them my all. I do not know what to expect in the future, I wish, I wish I could entrust themselves totally to one person but I fear that the more time passes and more is becoming difficult since the shrew part of me is coming out. A consolation of this is to say that I live well with myself and that I can look in the mirror every morning. A thought goes to the "asshole" to my son Andrew with which they are not able to build a relationship yet but I hope that in time things can be mended. Vabbuò.

Manca ancora qualche giorno quando, un anno fa, scrissi un post che riguardava il raggiungimento dei miei primi 50 anni di vita.
Ogni tanto lo rileggo e, pur avendolo scritto come al solito di getto, mi meraviglio da solo come sia riuscito, in poche parole, a riassumere 50 anni di vita.
Alcune cose in quest'anno sono cambiate, come allora sospettavo mia mamma da qualche mese non c'è più e questo mi consola di aver fatto la scelta più giusta, quella di passare con lei il suo ultimo anno di vita, anche perchè, erano circa 30 anni che non stavamo per più di 15 giorni insieme.
Ho conosciuto, sempre in quest'anno una bellissima persona a cui, sebbene lei non lo creda, voglio bene ma, per motivi caratteriali e di concezioni di vita, è stato meglio che le strade si siano divise, forse lo capirà più avanti, come lo capiranno più avanti le altre persone che mi vogliono bene, e a cui voglio bene, capiranno che il mio rifiuto a determinati rapporti è dovuto unicamente alla consapevolezza che sarei stato un uomo comunque insoddisfatto.
Ho ancora solo 50 anni da vivere e in questi secondi 50 anni desidero quello che non sono mai riuscito ad avere, una Famiglia con la F maiuscola. Una Famiglia serena, dei bambini rompicoglioni che mi vengono a rompere le palle mentre lavoro, e una moglie che deve pensare unicamente a far parte integrante della famiglia, a contribuire col sottoscritto a crescere ed educare i figli a determinati valori e che consideri la famiglia come entità suprema da mettere avanti a qualsiasi egoismo velleitario.

Sono passati 50 anni.
I primi 50 sono volati via come se niente fosse e combinazione era domenica ed è domenica. Il bilancio? Senza alcun dubbio positivo conoscendo e vivendo quello che mi circonda. Se dicessi il contrario sarei un falso, un ipocrita. Alla fine dei conti tutto dalla vita non si può ottenere anche perchè penso che nessuno al mondo possa aver ottenuto dalla vita quello che ha sempre desiderato. Ieri una persona molto cara mi ha fatto leggere alcune frasi scritte da Paulo Coelho nella raccolta "Le cose che ho imparato nella vita" e ne ho trovata una che mi si addice " Le più felici delle persone, non necessariamente hanno il meglio di ogni cosa; soltanto traggono il meglio da ogni cosa che capita sul loro cammino." Non so se sono felice, anzi posso dire di non esserlo perchè la felicità è composta da attimi e di attimi felici ne ho avuti tanti e penso di poterne avere ancora tantissimi. Essenziale è la serenità quella serenità la si può avere solamente nel momento in cui non si è schiavi di nulla per prima cosa di se stessi. Con me stesso ho un rapporto molto sereno anche se a volte sono severo ma è quella severità che mi permette di tutelare la serenità. Avevo pensato di passare il giorno del mio compleanno in qualche posto particolare da ricordare tutta la vita. Ho pensato alla Grande Mela, ho pensato all'amata Parigi, all'adorata Barcellona città in cui ho carissime persone a cui sono legato...... ho pensato, ho pensato, ho pensato. E poi ho pensato che il posto giusto fosse esattamente qua, dove mi trovo in questo momento accanto ai miei malati e anziani genitori a cui per un motivo o per l'altro non sono mai stato vicino se non in casi eccezionali. Anche questo lo devo a loro, non mi hanno mai fatto pesare la loro condizione e mi hanno permesso di vivere la mia vita come l'ho sempre potuta e voluta vivere. E' una fortuna averli ancora tutti e due in vita sebbene li stia vedendo consumarsi giorno per giorno. E' a loro che devo quello che sono e mi ritengo e voglio essere una bella persona.
La mia vita sentimentale? Mah, caliamo un velo pietoso, probabilmente l'essere severo con me stesso mi porta ad essere severo con le altre persone. Forse sono troppo esigente con chi mi circonda ma il primo con cui sono esigente è me stesso. Ho avuto la fortuna di avere sempre delle compagne di vita estremamente corrette anche se probabilmente non sono riuscito a dare loro tutto me stesso. Non so cosa mi aspetta il futuro, desidero, voglio potermi affidare totalmente a una persona ma ho timore che più passa il tempo e più stia diventando difficile in quanto la parte bisbetica di me sta venendo fuori. A consolazione di questo c'è da dire che vivo bene con me stesso e che riesco ogni mattina a guardarmi allo specchio. Un pensiero va a quella "testa di cazzo" di mio figlio Andrea con cui non sono riuscito a costruire ancora un rapporto ma spero che col tempo le cose si possano aggiustare. Vabbuò.

Personally I compare to the plague, even though I know not what mysterious reason, our major newspapers, and talks of the Republic and the Corriere della Sera, at least in the online version does not give news. Personalmente la paragono alla peste anche se, non so per quale arcano motivo, le nostre maggiori testate, e parlo di Repubblica e il Corriere della Sera, almeno nella versione on line, non ne danno notizia. Ci sono giornali e giornalisti che fanno della Libertà di informazione e di stampa una bandiera sociale ma, come questo sito ha sempre denunciato, è puramente una battaglia politica.
Allora cosa ci rimane? Andare a scorgere i quotidiani stranieri. Su Le Figarò leggo:

Son avocat, Me Patrick Maisonneuve, a affirmé voir une «contradiction assez évidente» dans le jugement lu par la présidente du tribunal quelques minutes plus tôt. «On ne peut pas dire d'un côté ‘je condamne la Scientologie pour escroquerie en bande organisée' et de l'autre ‘je ne vous interdis pas parce que si je vous interdisais, l'escroquerie pourrait se poursuivre de manière inorganisée'». Mais «ce qui me paraît important, c'est que cette association peut aujourd'hui continuer son activité. Elle doit continuer à exister», s'est-il réjoui.
Considéré comme une religion aux États-Unis, le mouvement fondé en 1954 par l'écrivain américain de science-fiction Ron Hubbard a été classé parmi les sectes, en France, dans un rapport parlementaire de 1995. Un rapport qui n'a jamais été actualisé depuis. L'organisation, qui revendique 12 millions d'adeptes dans le monde et 45.000 dans l'Hexagone, fonde son action sur la dianétique, une «science» qui permettrait d'accéder au bonheur en se purifiant des éléments mentaux négatifs, notamment grâce à un appareil électrique appelé électromètre.

Dans ce dossier, on reproche aux deux principales structures françaises de la Scientologie, ainsi qu'à six scientologues, d'avoir soutiré des dizaines de milliers d'euros à quatre anciens adeptes, en profitant de leur vulnérabilité.
Le 15 juin, le parquet avait requis la dissolution des deux structures, une amende de 4 millions d'euros et des peines de prison avec sursis contre les principaux prévenus. Mais cette dissolution était en fait inapplicable. Une modification de loi intervenue le 12 mai, mais passée inaperçue jusqu'en septembre, ne permet en effet plus de dissoudre une secte pour escroquerie. Cette information avait provoqué en septembre un tollé général, les détracteurs de la Scientologie accusant l'organisation d'avoir «infiltré» l'Assemblée nationale, voire même la Chancellerie, et piloté cette modification législative. Le Parlement avait rétabli mi-septembre par un amendement au Sénat cette possibilité de dissolution .

Il 15 giugno, l'accusa aveva chiesto lo scioglimento delle due strutture, una multa di 4 milioni di euro e e il carcere con pena sospesa nei confronti degli imputati principali. Ma questa soluzione non è stata applicata. Una modifica è intervenuta il 12 maggio, ma non è stata presa in considerazione a settembre, che avrebbe permesso di sciogliere un culto per frode. Questa informazione avrebbe a settembre notevole clamore, i critici di Scientology hanno accusato l'organizzazione di essersi "infiltrati" all'interno dell'Assemblea nazionale, anche nella Cancelleria, e di aver pilotato questo cambiamento legislativo. Il Parlamento è stato ripristinato a metà settembre da un emendamento al Senato di questa possibilità di scioglimento.
Sino qua la notizia, ma vogliamo ricordare cosa è Scientology considerando che ne abbiamo scritto più volte?
La storia di Scientology è strettamente legata a quella del suo fondatore L. Ron Hubbard che, sin daglianni trenta, è stato uno scrittore di fantascienza ed altri generi letterari (western, avventure, romanzi sentimentali, fantasy, letteratura gialla).
Dopo una vita avventurosa e movimentata ma, secondo i documenti presentati in un caso legale americano, anche molto colorita di episodi frutto soltanto di una fervida fantasia (il giudice Breckenridge della Corte suprema dello Stato della California per la Contea di Los Angeles nel giudicare il Caso No. C420153, 16 ottobre 1984, disse di Hubbard: "Le prove ritraggono un uomo che è stato letteralmente un bugiardo patologico in relazione alla sua storia, al suo passato e alle sue imprese"), Hubbard ottenne grande successo pubblicando nel 1950 il libro Dianetica (Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health), nel quale descrive un metodo o disciplina che viene definito dai suoi sostenitori "un sistema per l'analisi, controllo e sviluppo del pensiero umano, che fornisce anche tecniche per ottenere maggiori capacità, razionalità e libertà dalla scoperta della singola fonte delle aberrazioni che sono la causa delle malattie psicosomatiche".
Esponenti della comunità psichiatrica e scientifica (ma anche altri, come ad esempio lo scrittore Isaac Asimov) criticarono duramente le teorie di Hubbard e la loro mancanza di scientificità. Nonostante ciò,Dianetics fu un grande successo editoriale, e conta ad oggi oltre venti milioni di copie vendute . La pubblicazione del libro e il suo grande successo popolare portarono alla fondazione di istituti denominati "Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundations" in alcune città degli Stati Uniti, provocando inizialmente forte entusiasmo e seguito.
Tuttavia in poco più di un anno il clamore si sgonfiò, lasciando Hubbard e le sue Fondazioni piene di debiti e con una serie di problemi pratici da affrontare:

le crescenti critiche interne che lamentavano l'assoluta mancanza di metodo scientifico nelle pratiche di quella che doveva essere una "scienza della mente"; l'accorpamento di nozioni mistiche emetafisiche; l'atteggiamento crescentemente autoritario di Hubbard.

un'indagine della Associazione Medica del New Jersey sulla Fondazione Dianetic della città diElizabeth, accusata di insegnamento illegale della medicina.

la perdita temporanea di Hubbard dei diritti sulle sue Fondazioni a favore di Don Purcell, che lo aveva salvato dai debiti.
Fu in quel periodo che Hubbard rese pubbliche le sue congetture relative alla natura spirituale dell'uomo, indipendente dal corpo e dalla mente: l'essere spirituale userebbe la mente e il corpo per agire nell'universo fisico che lo circonda. Hubbard prese quindi momentaneamente le distanze da Dianetics, ormai in mano a Purcell, e nel 1952 fondò la Hubbard Association of Scientologist, da cui nacque nel 1954 la Chiesa di Scientology. Frattanto era rientrato in possesso dei diritti di Dianetics, entità che a tutt'oggi è parte integrante di Scientology e viene da più parti definita un "gruppo di facciata" per veicolare tra le file della Chiesa di Scientology persone con problemi interpersonali o di scarsa autostima che mai penserebbero di affidare i propri problemi a una chiesa o religione.
Nel corso degli anni '60 Hubbard venne considerato persona non gradita in Gran Bretagna, nel 1978 condannato in contumacia da un tribunale francese per frode a quattro anni di carcere , dopo che già era stato espulso dalla Grecia e rifiutato dalla Rhodesia. Relativamente alla condanna francese, il prof. Levassuer scrisse un saggio in cui si sostiene la natura illegale del procedimento svoltosi a carico di Hubbard in absentia dell'imputato.
Nel 1967, a seguito dei crescenti problemi che lui stesso e la sua organizzazione stavano sperimentando in Inghilterra e ai resoconti non lusinghieri dei media locali, Hubbard fondò la "Organizzazione del Mare" (Sea Org) e assieme ad una cerchia di fedelissimi prese il mare a bordo di due navi e uno yacht acquistati all'uopo, auto proclamandosi Commodoro della sua piccola flotta privata.
Trascorse i successivi otto anni incrociando nel Mediterraneo ed al largo delle coste nordafricane e portoghesi. Il comportamento non sempre chiaro dei suoi seguaci, le frequenti "shore story" (storie inventate di pura fantasia) usate con le diverse autorità portuali in merito ai loro scopi e presenza, il fatto che i capitani della sua flotta non fossero sempre all'altezza dei compiti di governo dei natanti fece sì che il gruppo fosse regolarmente al centro di controversie e talora di vibranti proteste delle popolazioni locali, e in certe circostanze la flotta dovette precipitosamente abbandonare il porto o le venne ordinato di salpare l'áncora.
Uno degli scopi dichiarati della sua presenza nel Mediterraneo era condurre spedizioni archeologiche per provare le sue teorie sulle sue presunte vite passate. Il resoconto di tali spedizioni è stato pubblicato dallo stesso Hubbard con il titolo Mission Into Time.
Tra le accuse mosse ai membri dell'organizzazione vi erano anche quelle di spionaggio, e proprio di spionaggio (e cospirazione) si resero colpevoli nei confronti del governo americano dodici alti funzionari dell'organizzazione, tra cui la stessa moglie di Hubbard. La vicenda esplose nel 1977 e vide i congiurati finire condannati dal governo degli Stati Uniti, e Hubbard citato come co-cospiratore non imputato.
Formalmente la Chiesa di Scientology censurò il comportamento di quei membri resisi colpevoli. Si trattava dell'Ufficio del Guardiano (Guardian's Office), altrimenti noto come GO. Era stato istituito nel 1966per curare gli affari legali ed esterni della Chiesa. Oggi non esiste più, essendo stato smantellato agli inizi degli anni ottanta dall'attuale amministrazione della Chiesa e sostituito con l'Ufficio degli Affari Speciali, o OSA.
Secondo i seguaci e la dirigenza del movimento, "nel GO si erano infiltrate persone esterne ed esso aveva fallito la sua missione di proteggere la Chiesa". Le condanne inflitte per azioni antigovernative colpirono però i vertici stessi del GO, tra cui la stessa moglie e braccio destro di Hubbard. Il GO era stato costituito come unità indipendente che rispondeva unicamente a Mary Sue Hubbard, nominata "Controllore a vita" delle sue attività proprio dal marito e fondatore L. Ron Hubbard (Organization Executive Course, vol. 7, p. 503). Secondo le testimonianze di diversi fuoriusciti di alto livello che all'epoca lavoravano ai vertici della Chiesa, Mary Sue Hubbard, massimo dirigente del Guardian's Office e suo Controllore, obbediva e rispondeva delle sue azioni e decisioni unicamente al marito.
Le operazioni illecite del GO erano venute alla luce grazie alla denuncia e alle testimonianze di un suo operativo, tale Meisner, colto in atteggiamenti sospetti all'interno di un edificio del Governo da dove da tempo asportava documenti riservati. Sul momento era stato rilasciato, ma era partita un'inchiesta. Dopo diverse settimane di latitanza, secondo le sue parole protetto dalla chiesa stessa, Meisner si costituì alle autorità e collaborò con esse per quell'indagine federale che avrebbe portato prima alle irruzioni nelle sedi di Scientology di Washington DC e Los Angeles e al sequestro di migliaia e migliaia di documenti interni, e poi al processo e alla condanna dei vertici del GO.
Allorché le attività illecite del GO divennero di pubblico dominio la dirigenza di Scientology disse di essersi adoperata al suo smantellamento e di avere allontanato i suoi leader corrotti e deviati. Attualmente le cariche un tempo ricoperte dal Guardian's Office sono di pertinenza dell'Ufficio Affari Speciali, OSA. Uno dei passi intrapresi da Scientology per evitare che niente come il GO potesse ripetersi in futuro, fu l'istituzione del Religious Technology Center (RTC), presieduto da David Miscavige, una struttura che da allora ha lo scopo di mantenere la religione pura e conforme agli insegnamenti del suo Fondatore.
Alcuni osservatori esterni, che erano al corrente degli eventi culminati nello smantellamento del GO, hanno spesso rimarcato i modi decisi e la determinazione con cui l'intera situazione è stata affrontata. Quindi la Chiesa ha riallacciato le sue relazioni con il governo degli Stati Uniti e ottenuto dall'Internal Revenue Service (l'ufficio del fisco statunitense) il pieno status di associazione esentasse, operante esclusivamente a fini umanitari e religiosi.
Probabilmente a causa del clamore suscitato dal processo e forse nel timore di essere messo personalmente sotto inchiesta, nel 1982 Hubbard si ritirò dalla scena ed entrò in esilio volontario in una località segreta. Solo al momento della morte, nel gennaio del 1986, si saprà che luogo prescelto per quell'esilio era un lussuoso ranch in California, dove in quegli anni era stato accudito da una coppia di coniugi scientologist, Pat e Ann Broeker.
Nonostante Pat Broeker fosse ritenuto il legittimo erede della dirigenza del movimento, alla morte del fondatore il comando passò a sorpresa, e non senza polemiche interne, nelle mani dell'attuale leader, David Miscavige. Miscavige era membro del gruppo dei "Messaggeri del Commodoro", la fazione più potente all'interno della chiesa in cui era entrato giovanissimo, al seguito dei genitori e senza nemmeno aver terminato la scuola superiore che, a suo dire, era solo una perdita di tempo. Il gruppo capitanato da Miscavige fece piazza pulita dei suoi oppositori interni, e da allora gestisce fermamente il comando, con il compito di mantenere l'ortodossia degli scritti e delle pratiche, senza sostituirsi ad Hubbard nel ruolo di Fondatore della religione.
Nel 1994 sul newsgroup alt.religion.scientology cominciò la diffusione in Internet degli scritti segreti di Scientology, quelli che costituiscono i suoi "livelli avanzati di conoscenza". La Chiesa non gradì e diede origine a tutta una serie di battaglie legali per proteggere la sua proprietà intellettuale dalla distribuzione non autorizzata, vedendo in alcuni casi riconosciuti i propri diritti sui copyright violati. La cosa suscitò molto scalpore e ancora più controversia, dando il via a un infuocato dibattito che vide coinvolti i libertari della Rete. Fu in quel periodo, e a seguito della iper-reazione di Scientology, che tra di essi nacque un vero interesse per il movimento e i suoi metodi, e iniziarono a nascere innumerevoli siti critici e di denuncia. Da allora, e nonostante le azioni legali intraprese, il contenuto dei livelli segreti di Scientology è comunque diventato di pubblico dominio e discussione.
Nel 1995 la morte di Lisa McPherson, avvenuta dopo diciassette giorni di permanenza nella cosiddetta "Mecca di Scientology" di Clearwater, Florida, creò al movimento una pessima pubblicità. La ragazza, una scientologist che aveva da poco raggiunto lo stato di "Clear", cioè libera da aberrazioni e comportamenti irrazionali, aveva avuto un piccolo incidente automobilistico al seguito del quale era uscita dall'auto e si era spogliata nuda in mezzo al traffico cittadino.
Ricoverata nel reparto psichiatrico per accertamenti, contro il parere medico aveva chiesto di essere dimessa (gli scientologist mantengono un atteggiamento ostile nei confronti della psichiatria e delle sue pratiche) e si era affidata alle cure dei compagni scientologist al Fort Harrison Hotel, dove poi troverà la morte. Il rapporto del coroner riferì di segni di disidratazione, costrizione fisica e forte deperimento.
La Chiesa di Scientology negò ogni sua implicazione e contestò tenacemente la versione offerta dal medico legale, dando origine a un caso giudiziario tra l'organizzazione, la procura e la famiglia della ragazza. Un cambiamento nella perizia medico-legale, grazie alle informazioni riportate dalla Chiesa, indusse la pubblica accusa a ritirare il procedimento.
Fin dalla sua fondazione Scientology è stata al centro di molte polemiche, procedimenti giudiziari e contenziosi legali che danno la cifra visibile della diffidenza suscitata e dei problemi creati dall'organizzazione e dai suoi seguaci o, nell'ottica di Hubbard, dell'enorme complotto contro Scientology montato dai suoi nemici. Secondo la Chiesa il conflitto risale al 1950 periodo in cui, a suo dire, "la psichiatria aveva legami strettissimi con i servizi di controspionaggio americani e prosperava grazie ai copiosi stanziamenti dello Stato". Nel maggio di quell'anno Ron Hubbard aveva pubblicato Dianetics: Scienza Moderna della Salute Mentale (ribattezzato poi in Italia alla fine degli anni ottanta Dianetics: La forza del pensiero sul corpo) in cui, tra l'altro, etichettava come pericolosi gli ultimi ritrovati della farmacologia psichiatrica e disumani i trattamenti a base di elettroshock e lobotomia.
Il volume si presentava come un facile manuale di psicoterapia "fai da te" e venne immediatamente stigmatizzato dalla comunità medica, la quale sottolineò che non esisteva alcun riscontro scientifico alle affermazioni "scientifiche" dell'autore, e sottolineava i potenziali pericoli dello sperimentare pratiche psicoterapiche senza alcuna preparazione specifica se non, appunto, quel confuso manuale.
Le forti critiche di merito avanzate dall'American Medical Association (AMA), dalla American Psychological Association (APA) e dalla American Psychiatric Association (APA) fecero ritenere ad Hubbard di essere in presenza di un "complotto psichiatrico" teso a minare le sue scoperte, che a suo dire rappresentavano un valido sostituto, se non l'unico, alle pratiche di salute mentale fino ad allora utilizzate.
Nel 1993, non senza suscitare vibranti proteste e controversie, l'Internal Revenue Service (IRS), ufficio delle tasse americano, riconobbe piena esenzione fiscale alla Chiesa di Scientology e alle organizzazioni ad essa affiliate, riconoscendone il carattere religioso.
Secondo GR24, la testata giornalistica di Radio 24, l'attore Tom Cruise sarebbe la nuova guida spirituale di Scientology dal 23 gennaio del 2007.
